ETIM xChange is coming!
The ETIM International Team has worked on it for a few years now, but soon it will be available: ETIM xChange, a renewed data standard focusing on exchanging product data internationally in a standard format.
A European data standard
The ETIM xChange data format is a step towards global data standardisation. The format is based on the European Master Data Guidelines (EMDG) and uses a number of existing standards, such as DICO, BMEcat and FAB-DIS.
The GS1 standard is used to identify items (GTIN) and locations (GLN).
The exchange format is JSON based and the ETIM xChange standard is fully controlled by ETIM International.

Features of the first ETIM xChange release
A simplified structure in JSON which is logically grouped, based on multiple national exchange standards;
Generic product data is separated from the data of one or more trade items of that product;
Data structure for transporting LCA data in all phases of the life cycle;
The structure allows all kinds of multilingual or single-language attachments;
ETIM xChange is compatible with latest ETIM-MC structures, including Connection Types;
ETIM xChange has a very flexible structure for exchanging packaging-hierarchy data with multiple methods.
